WMPCDText is a small but useful free plug-in for

Windows Media Player that works to read the information in text format from audio CDs. WMPCDText is an extension of standard CDs, and thanks to it you can store additional information on audio CDs like, for example, the album name, artist name, and data on tracks. Some players like

Winamp and Real Player can read this information. But not Windows Media Player, which never had this option available. Now you can with WMPCDText.

The program includes an option to automatically read the text information on the CDs. As an alternative you can also right click on the track so you can view it in the Now Playing window, and select Read CD–Text. WMPCDText has been created for Windows Media Player 10 and 11 and only works in Windows XP, 2003 and Vista.
